Are you looking for the best eye care in Amarillo? At Advanced Eye Care, we take pride in our work. We’ve been serving the Texan community for more than 70 years, and experience like that just can’t be beat.

We serve a variety of different patients, and our experience allows us to assure you that we’re ready to diagnose and treat your ocular issue. Below, you’ll learn more about the services we offer. As well, you’ll learn why we’re Texas’s eye care clinic of choice.

Specialty Contact Lens Fits

Contact lenses are fantastic for people who don’t like wearing glasses, but some people have a harder time wearing contact lenses. That’s where specialty lenses come in.

We’ll examine your eyes to determine what type of lens you need. Your needs will vary based on what ocular difficulties you’re having: Near-sightedness, far-sightedness and presbyopia can be addressed with contact lenses. Additionally, sometimes people need special lenses due to disease or eye trauma, other times they need custom lenses because of a disorder like severe astigmatism.

Once we’ve determined exactly what you need, we’ll select contact lenses that are designed for you.

Dry Eye Treatment

Dry eyes are more than just an inconvenience. If left untreated, they can impact your ocular health, as well as comfort and functional vision. If you’re suffering from dry eyes, come to our office and we’ll determine the best course of treatment.

This could be anything from artificial tears to medications to special “punctal plugs” that are designed to relieve your symptoms. We’ll work with you to ensure that your health and comfort are both taken care of.

Ocular Disease and Diabetes

If you have diabetes, you’re at a higher risk for a variety of different ocular problems. While we recommend regular eye care visits to everyone, these visits are especially important for diabetic patients. The consequences of not doing so can be severe: diabetes is the main indicator for risk of blindness for people between the ages of 20 and 74.

Pediatric Vision Exams

Children are often afraid of any doctor in a white coat. So, it’s understandable that it can be difficult or even scary for children to visit an eyecare clinic. That’s why we endeavor to create an environment where everyone is comfortable. Whatever visual challenges your child is suffering from, we’ll work with you and them to ensure they get the treatment they need.

We recommend eye exams for children who are at least six months old. It may seem early, but there’s a lot that we can tell about the eyes, vision and binocular visual system even from a baby! We don’t need your child to be able to answer the question “1 or 2” to be able to help them see better.

If you’re looking for a full-service optometrist in Amarillo, Texas, you’ve come to the right place. At Advanced Eye Care, we’re proud to offer a suite of services that help our patients see better. Our Amarillo clinic is located on Paramount Blvd, right across the street from Tyler’s Barbeque.
